New Zealand dominates first session

  KANPUR, SEPTEMBER 23RD

New Zealand reached 71 for one at lunch on the second day in reply to Pakistan’s first innings score of 318 in the first cricket Test, in Kanpur on Friday.

Starting at 291 for 9, India reached 318  due to  Ravindra Jadeja’s 42 off 44 balls.

In reply, New Zealand lost Martin Guptill’s (21) wicket but Tom Latham (25 batting) and skipper Kane Williamson (21 batting) added 36 runs for the unbroken second wicket stand.

India 1st Innings 318 in 97 overs (Murali Vijay 65, Cheteshwar Pujara 62, Ravichandran Ashwin 40, Ravindra Jadeja 42, Trent Boult 3/67, Mitchell Santner 3/94, Neil Wagner 2/47).
