7th Pay Commission benefits extended to Central, State university teachers

NEW  DELHI, OCTOBER 11TH 

 The  Union Cabinet on Wednesday,  said   the benefits of the 7th Pay Commission were extended to 7.58 lakh teachers of the Central, State universities and aided colleges.

Around 58,000 professors of 213 Central universities, including IITs, will get full funding from the Centre, Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar said.

In an effort to attract talent into academics and improve the quality of education in the country, seven lakh professors, assistant and associate professors in aided colleges and State universities will get the benefits, Mr. Javadekar said.

States will get the Centre's support and all the benefits will be paid from January 1, 2016.
