Freewheel chat with Jo Balaji

In the popular series “Kana Kaanum Kalangal,”  telecast in Vijay TV Balaji played the playful character named “Jo”, and has managed to capture hearts by channeling his inner feelings the role. In a  friendly chat K K K  (  Kana kanum kalangal)Balaji, shared some of the  memorable incidents in his life on a trip down memory lane  with Sangeetha.

Sangeetha-  How did you get your maiden chance?   what you were doing then?

Balaji-  I was studying  first year Bsc Maths in Loyola College-  I was asked to give a host performance for our college cultural

The judge4s comprised of  Jagan and another Vijay TV person, liked my performance and called me for the audition   the  serial Kana Kaanum Kalangal,”

in which I did a couple of performances and finally got into this field.

Sangeetha- If you would have not stepped in this industry, what you would have chosen as your career?

Balaji- Probably I would have gone to Australia to do my master’s in IT, which was almost (confirmed), but that was the time when I got my film opportunities, so obviously I dropped it

Sangeetha- What is your upcoming project?

Balaji- Currently I am working on Mai Alagi (film name) under a new banner called ‘White creations ‘and it is directed by “Jayavel who is the associate of Prabhu Solomon Sir I take only one film at a time in order to concentrate fully upon that particular character. So, right now, I have this in my hand. This film will probably hit the screens this year .

Sangeetha- What is unique about this film?

Balaji- This film  basically deals with the story between an elder sister and a physically challenged younger brother with cerebral palsy. It is  elaborately explained in this film, and I’m sure that this film will be one of my best works in my career. For this character I have lost more than 7 kg, in order to like the disabled children, which I took as a challenge.

Sangeetha- What is your dream role?

Balaji- I always like to take risks, so any role which is rejected by someone, and if it is suits  me, then that would be my ground to hit a sixer. But I don’t have any specific role as such.

Sangeetha- If you’re called back to small screen which of the two would you prefer?

Balaji-     I prefer films,   We are passing out of  school, college,  and then go to  work and so on but nobody wants to go back to school and study again the subjects you already know. That is the reality. I always wanted to learn new things and so I would prefer the next step rather than the previous one.

Sangeetha -Favorite Film?

Balaji- Anbe Sivam

Sangeetha- Favorite actors?

Balaji- Kamala Hassan, Rajini, Surya and Vikram.

Sangeetha- One line which captures your image?

Balaji- “Ading goiyale!!” (A catchphrase that he often uses on screen for comic effect).
