Popular composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, nephew of Oscar winner A.R. Rahman, married his childhood sweet heart and singer Saindhavi here Thursday. Saindhavi is performing classical music concerts as she is learning carnatic music.
The wedding took place in the presence of family and close friends in true south Indian style at Major Ramanathan Chettiar Hall.
The bridegroom was dressed in white dhoti and shirt, the bride was draped in a Kanjeevaram silk sari.
A grand reception was host in the evening and was attended a host of luminaries from the Tamil film industry.
Prakash and Saindhavi were classmates in Chettinad Vidyashram and have been friends since.
Prakash has scored music for Tamil films such as "Aadukalam", "Thaandavam" and "Thalaivaa", while Saindhavi is popular for crooning songs such as "Randanakka" and "Vizhigalil Oru Vaanavili".
Prakash has also composed music for Hindi films "Joker", "Gangs of Wasseypur" and Anurag Kashyap's film "Ugly".
