Chettinad Players are making big rounds   with their spectacular play    “Ghatotkachan , An-Envoy of peace”

Secretary and Correspondent ,Dr.Meena Muthiah – Kumara Rani of Chettinad;’s  passion for fine arts is undisputed. A connoisseur  of arts and culture  she encourages her students     to a great extent. . Her brain child Chettinad Players – The Theatre House from Chettinad Vidyashram has reached its zenith.

Their earlier productions KARNA”, “VAALI VADHAM”,

CHAKRAVYUHA” – An Epic on stage”, HANUMAN - The Immortal &

SHIVA - The Eternal Giver  was the talk of the town and earned plaudits from the eprople and the press.

Their present   production  “Ghatotkachan , An Envoy of peace”, the twelfth production of Chettinad Players  is a crowd puller .

The protagonist  Ghatotkachan ( Raghavendran)enchanted  the audience with his vivid portrayal showcasing a  gamut of emotions  .  Ghatotkachan transforms  himself to the real character   and gets involved in it. Abhimanyu  is charming and so is Vatsala. We are shifted to Kurukshetra   and for a  moment feel that we   are  there in the battle field.

The   scene of the death of Ghatotkachan  in the hands of Karna is melancholic.

Each and every actor did his part  with elan.

Jayakumar who has directed the play has proved that he   is  a director par excellence.

Thota Tharini  a veteran in the field of stage set up will be remembered for his wonderful   and realistic depiction. Elango Kumaravel and Deepika Kumaravel who have scripted the dialogues need special mention as they have brought alive the characters through their powerful dialogues. The light effects by Lawrence were awesome. Amudhalakshmi, Principal   of Chettinad Vidyashram is the backbone of Chettinad Players  with out whom the play would have never taken off.  She is fully committed and her  dedication is astounding.
